Sponsor a Child

For each child enrolled in Nueva Esperanza, two $30 a month sponsorships are required.  Each child needs a DAILY CARE SPONSOR to cover the costs of food and loving care and an EDUCATIONAL SPONSOR to help cover the costs of qualified teachers, educational materials and curriculum needed for each child to receive classes on his or her age level.

Daily Care Sponsor

A sponsorship of $30 per month is needed to cover the cost of daily care for each child.  This allows them to attend Nueva Esperanza Monday through Friday so that their parent(s) can find employment without having to leave the child to fend for themselves all day long.  At the Center children receive daily loving care, nourishing food, clothing, medical attention, educational classes, and Spiritual training.  The goal is to show the children the love of Christ while meeting their physical needs. If you would like to sponsor a child, please contact us for details. Donations are sent to our Ohio office.

Educational Sponsor

Education is a vital part of the solution to the poverty that faces the country of Honduras.  The children enrolled in Nueva Esperanza are giving the opportunity to receive a better education than most children in Honduras.
Most children when first enrolled in Nueva Esperanza do not even know basic things like how to count, recite the alphabet, or recognize colors.  The preschool children receive daily preschool classes that teach them these basics and also encourage social skills that help prepare them to do better in school.  When a child reaches Kindergarten age, they begin working on phonics and are taught to read.
Public schools in Honduras are scheduled to have classes for four hours a day five days a week; although on the average the children only receive about 12 hours of classes a week in an overcrowded classroom without sufficient educational materials. Therefore, the children attend the public school on the days and hours that they have classes and come to Nueva Esperanza the rest of the time.  Besides receiving the daily care benefits mentioned above, Nueva Esperanza provides classes for the children with a maximum of 15 students per teacher.  It supplements the education of the child by providing textbooks, educational resources and teachers for each age level to teach classes.

High School Youth Program
Children Needing Sponsored

As funds are available, scholarships are available to children enrolled in Nueva Esperanza when they graduate from the sixth grade.  Going on to High School is a difficult and expensive task for children who grow up in poverty. The children are granted scholarships based on their desire to continue their studies and financial need.   The scholarships are awarded to the students according to their academic achievement. If you would like to sponsor a child, please contact us for details. Donations are sent to our Ohio office.

Knowing that it will do no good for one of these children to graduate from high school if they do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, we have made the focus of our program the spiritual training of these children.  Nueva Esperanza has a youth leader who is available on a daily basis to counsel the young people and help them with their schoolwork.  A weekly youth group meeting and activity time are also planned for them.
